As the days go by, even with all the chaos, I’m so excited to marry my best friend. Its finally becoming REAL!! When Chris and I first discussed our wedding we both agreed that we wanted to write our own vows. We wanted our words to come from the heart and have more meaning, I think it goes back to the day being for us.
I started putting some of my thoughts down this week, but I want it to be spontaneous and not canned when I’m out there, so I’ve just started writing bits and pieces down, stuff to work off of. I’d like to have it done this week and then maybe just look it over again the week prior. I thought I would be nervous, but when it comes down to it, I love my man and I’m not scared to tell him. 🙂
My only other wedding item that I need to get done is transportation. Chris and I are getting ready at The Lodge and are staying there that night,so we will just need a ride to the Airport for our Honeymoon. Some of our out-of-town family members will need a ride from and then back to the airport as well. I need to get with The Lodge and check on shuttles. I need to think about our rehearsal dinner as well and get with the moms- I think I will need additional transportation that night as well, definitely want an option for people have fun that night with no worries.
Oh hey, honeymoon!! We leave 2 days after the wedding for a week in Curacao and then a second week in Belize. All of the details have been ironed on, we have the best travel agent! I do need to check that Chris has received his new passport and then just collect all our travel documents. So many little details right now, but I know the more I get organized now, the better I feel as we get closer.
Other than our big day, there has been a lot going on at the house as well. Our goal is to come back from our trip and be able to comfortably live. I’ve been busy this week getting the outside prepped for Uncle Bob. The flower beds have had to be completely gutted. I’d like to re-do our front porch and front walkway. We’ve also been thinking about exactly what we would like to have in the backyard. I’m thinking a combination of a patio and then a hardscape area leading out under the big maple trees. I can just imagine many summer nights grilling and having my friends and family over. I need to make a trip to the hardware store and look at the colors and sizes of stones and and also the decking material! There are so many to choose from. Uncle Bob has given us a little homework, I need to have it done before he gets into town.
And while we’re discussing Uncle Bob, it occurred to me that I have never mentioned his business – http://frederickporches.com
This Labor Day weekend I’d like to take a few days off from EVERYTHING, hopefully I can convince Chris as well – wish me luck!
